Here we are, six days into the 2014 Winter Paralympics, and the Team USA Sled Hockey Team has won two games: one against Italy and another against South Korea. Even though Team USA lost a tough game to Russia yesterday, their second-place finish in Group B still qualifies them to advance to the semi-final playoffs. If there’s one word these exceptional hockey players are unfamiliar with… it’s quit.
Team USA has some pretty amazing stories. Each player has overcome unfathomable challenges, and they haven’t come this far to leave it on the ice. Sure, they lost to Russia 3-2 on a controversial ruling some might call unfair. Still, the team is pressing forward towards the gold.
When this team takes to the ice on Thursday, they will not be holding back. After all, they still have 60 minutes to give it all they’ve got and move on to the gold medal round.
Team USA plays Team Canada in the semi-final Sled Hockey match on Thursday, March 13th at 12:00 PM EST. You can watch the action live at https://www.teamusa.org/2014/02/18/Live-From-Shayba-Arena. The game will also rebroadcast in prime-time on NBC Sports Network at 8:00 PM EST.
