Top 6 Companies That Hire People With Disabilities

Are you disabled and finding it is unnecessarily difficult to land the right job? Don’t worry; you’re not alone.

According to the latest numbers from CNN, only 41.1% of Americans with a disability are employed, as opposed to 79.1% of non-disabled Americans. Some of these candidates with a disability are highly qualified for the positions they are applying for, but they aren’t given the chance due to their condition.

Want to know what’s even worse? The people with a disability who do have jobs are actually making much less money. The average annual earnings for a disabled employee is $23,532. Compare that to the $32,688 that employees without a disability receive and you’ll start to see a huge divide.

Um… Something’s obviously not right here.

Gladly, we weren’t the only ones who felt something needed to be done. Businesses are beginning to take this problem head-on by standing up for people with disabilities. After doing some research, 101 Mobility compiled a list of 6 companies that put an emphasis on hiring people of all abilities.
